Published May 1, 1922Grace Moore, one of the most popular opera singers of her time, made the rare leap from nightclubs and Broadway to the Metropolitan Opera. While Moore's voice may not have pleased the critics, her charm and charisma made her a fan favorite. She appeared on Broadway in Irving Berlin's 'Music Box Revue' and in the Ziegfeld Follies of 1931. Moore made her Met debut as Mimi in 'La Boheme' in 1928, and starred in several films, such as the original 'One Night of Love' and the film version of the opera 'Louise.'
