As the fog rolls in diffusing the light with enchanting allure, photographer William Guion sensitively captures the beauty and grace of mystical, majestic oaks, enhanced by the landscape’s quietude. Guion, a Louisiana native retains his childhood fascination with these elder trees of the American landscape that he shoots throughout the South and the West. A landscape photographer for 20 years, Guion is greatly influenced by the West Coast’s large format black and white of the late 80’s. A sampling of his work has been published in his first book, Heartwood, Meditations on Southern Oaks.

I love this piece. It's soothing and peaceful and reminds me of the live oaks around my childhood home in Savannah, GA. It's the perfect size and the double matting gives the piece more of a professionally-framed look. There is a chip or something in the glass on top of the print, but Art.com has a fabulous guarantee so it's not a problem. Will definitely order again.
