The dynamic style of artist Mary Calkins is an exuberant fusion of vibrant colors, rich textures and unusual shapes. Influenced by a combination of environmental and historical factors, Calkins utilizes those elements to add intrigue to her work while they continue to emanate a playful energy. She achieves interesting results by combining many techniques to create collage and non-representational images that inspire enjoyment of the materials used, as well as provoking individual interpretation.
