This is not the first piece i have purchased from Art.Com and will not be the last - I'm addicted! This is a fantastic print that I have loved for a long time and have never had the space before now to hang. This is my second in the same subject. I had it framed in a wide brown wooden fame with some red tones that pick up the red in the print.

Grace, refinement and lighthearted fun float from the cloud-like dress, daintily balanced glass and casually posed model in “Martini and Rossi” by Marcello Dudovich (1878 - 1962). One of Italy’s leading poster artists, Dudovich is known for his vibrantly colored, dramatic ads for Ricordi, the opera publisher who created an in-house printing operation to promote its music. Dudovich become the official poster artist for renowned fashion department store Mele and broke artistic ground with a newer style which traded Art Nouveau excesses for a more modern look.

Marcello Dudovich (1878 - 1962) was one of Italy’s leading advertising poster artists, and was also involved with the blossoming film industry. Dudovich broke artistic conventions by revamping the Art Nouveau movement, removing the excesses and creating a more modern, streamlined style. He produced lighthearted posters with dramatic images and bold colors for Ricordi, the opera publisher who created an in-house printing operation to promote its music. Dudovich was also the official poster artist for the renowned fashion department store, Mele, and had further success designing ads for Carpano, Fiat, Pirelli and Alpha Romeo.
