    The joi de vive of a couple cavorting by the banks of the Seine is plain to see in the 1950s photo, “Rock ’n Roll sur les Quais de Paris” by Paul Almasy. A pioneer of photojournalism, the Hungarian-born Almasy (1906 – 2003) traveled the world for six decades, documenting the everyday life in various countries and cultures. Striving to inform the viewer with his images, Almasy amassed a detailed archive of over 120,000 photographs which emphasized content over form, producing a wealth of striking, stunningly composed photos.
